Superclasico (2011)

Christian is a Copenhagen wine seller on the brink of bankruptcy. Equally unsuccessful in just about every other aspect of life, it has been 17months since his wife Anna left him. Anna works as a soccer agent in Buenos Aires and now lives a life of luxury with Argentina's top player Juan Diaz. Then one day Christian and their 16-year-old son Oscar get on a plane to Buenos Aires. Christian arrives under the pretense of wanting to sign the divorce papers, but in truth, he wants to try to win Anna back.

An entertaining and funny film. Although apparently light in tone, it portrays some underlying deeper truths. An accurate and amusing portrayal of Argentinian mannerisms, way of life, food, drink, singing, dancing and sports fanaticism. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Went to this Indie at the Denver Film Festival last night and enjoyed it, even though it was in Danish, Spanish, and (Argentinean) Spanish with sub-titles. It is a very funny movie with some really good acting here. I doubt if it will gain a wider release, but if you get a chance to see it you'll enjoy it. As a side note the people at the Festival (mostly volunteers) didn't do a very good job with the large crowd that showed up. A small thing, but makes the overall experience a bit dodgy.

Decent comedy-drama. The drama side is a bit weak, but the movie is quite funny at times. Doesn't really go anywhere though.
