To Jane Falbury's New England farm comes a troup of actors to put up a show, invited by Jane's sister. At first reluctant she has them do farm chores in exchange for food. Her reluctance becomes attraction when she falls in love with the director, Joe, who happens to be her sister's fiance.

Great dance numbers! an unusual role for Kellly but its fun to see him like this.

Am watching this movie right now. One of my favorites. Judy Garland is awesome as always, as are Gene Kelly and Phil Silvers. Perfect supporting cast of Gloria de Haven, Marjorie Main and Eddie Bracken. Plot, as is the case with many musicals, is secondary to great musical numbers and songs. A really enjoyable example of how fun this genre can be!

Judy Garland and Gene Kelly are such a wonderful combo. And the scenes just seem to keep moving towards the finale which IS the show. Garland's rendition of "Get Happy" is such a great ending to Garland's MGM career.

Well, since my grandparents live on a farm this is rediculously funny, I wouldn't want to watch it over and over again though.
