surprisingly good. was a blind buy at best buy. after i saw the trailer i had to get this film. and it didnt disappoint. beautiful cinematography. story was decent. some broken English here and there but it flowed nicely.

A fantastic mix of east and west with the style of Takashi Miike. I really enjoyed this movie: it was entertaining, beautifully shot and full of cool action scenes. I really thought the Japanese people speaking English was bothering me but it didn't.

A great eastern western prequel to the legendary spaghetti western antihero Django.

Start to finish one of the best modern Western movies. The cinematics alone would keep me intrigued, but the micromanaged directing by Miike is unreal. Every line uttered is forced through non-English speakers and therefore seems worlds away from written lines. The color contrast throughout the movie is gorgeous, and the red and white gangs make the distinction even more appealing. Any frame of this movie could make an expensive, framed photo in an art gallery. This is the best version of Yojimbo that I have ever seen. Takashi Miike is one of the best directors in the world.

Stop fucking complaining that it's in English! It's in English because westerns are in English. Of course Tarantino can't act, but who gives a shit? The cast could consist entirely of dogs and it still couldn't be anything short of awesome.
