The road of Stevie is a rough ride, and at 145 minutes, it's a long one. But in an age of so-called reality shows that are no more than hyped entertainment, it is a rewarding if distressing look at flawed but genuine human beings.

Daring, Gripping, and Controversial. You will never forget this movie.

Liam Lacey 10 Apr 2003

A painful documentary film, partly because of its subject, partly because of the troubling questions raised by the filmmaker's approach.

Laura Clifford 18 Apr 2003

Possibly looking for a personal catharsis, James gets a whole lot of heartbreak, yet still presents an unblinking portrait of a complex personality.

I cut class today. I think I'm getting sick, so its good I missed class today instead of later on in the week when I'll be really sick. I saw two great movies recently, Stevie and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Its refreshing to see two good movies so close together. Too bad LOEG had to break the streak. I've been listening to alot of Industrial lately. I'm pretty sure "Jesus Built my Hotrod" is one of the best songs ever.
