'the thin man' minus myrna loy and add in Ginger Rogers

The more I watch films with William Powell, the more I like him. His sophisticated and cynical portrayals are engaging.

A Thin Man knock-off with William Powell's Clay Dalzell expertly aping his very own Nick Charles (well, he ought to be able to rip off his own character, right?). Ginger Rogers stands in for Myrna Loy, playing a spunkier, less refined Nora. The central mystery ends up being nothing special, but these films were always more about the interplay between Powell and his lady, and with that in mind it's a perfectly amusing diversion sure to be of interest to the Thin Man fan.

An early Ginger Rogers film but she is a distant second in the billing to William Powell who is dominant in his efforts to solve a murder mystery, one that isn't the strongest of stories but one that is tenable in creating an entertaining movie.
