Not-bad premise and some good performances from Eric Bana and America Ferreira are ruined by wooden acting from Ricky Gervais throughout. In this context, 'Netflix exclusive' should be considered as 'straight to DVD'.

It had an interesting story, but it's unfortunately very cliché, predictable the acting is average at best and worst of all, it's not very funny. If you're expecting something outrageous and funny, you'll be sorely disappointed. If you just want to be entertained for an hour and a half, you might enjoy it.

Really enjoyed this one creative new fresh and funny I mean the chemistry was great the cameos were neat and the plot twist was just whoops I mean go into this movie with an open mind disregarding the critics and enjoy what the movie is trying to do which is make you laugh

Brilliantly funny movie but the feminists wouldn't like it. Probably why it gets a lower rating on here. Also takes a good jab at the fake media world. Worth watching.

I've watched this numerous times. It makes me laugh every time. I think the reviews are unfair, which is what is leading me to write a review. Objectively, The characters are not feeble. In fact both main characters are shown to grow in a positive way throughout the film. It's a great story told brilliantly. I found Gervais' unique take on the media an interesting idea throughout the first part of the film. Subjectively, I am a long time fan of Gervais' work, and I was glad to see a lot of observations from the podcast days and from his standup work.
