Seventh Son (2014)

John Gregory, who is a seventh son of a seventh son and also the local spook, has protected the country from witches, boggarts, ghouls and all manner of things that go bump in the night. However John is not young anymore, and has been seeking an apprentice to carry on his trade. Most have failed to survive. The last hope is a young farmer's son named Thomas Ward. The seventh son is a good supernatural special effects warrior movie about an old man that teaches the young guy to be apprentice to him to take down an evil witch. Good cast Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore starting this one. B+ (2015)

The movie while not liked by most is very likely to become a cult classic. The original Conan movies came to mind while watching this. I actually enjoyed the fact that the movie didn't end with yet another countdown to the worlds end. Instead, like the original Conan movies, it came to the equivalent of a slug fest with neither side having a definitive advantage over the other.
