Serenity is not just awful. It’s amazingly awful, which means that very few people will want to see it, but some probably will. People who can enjoy laughing at something made in dead earnest, who can appreciate, in a perverse way, a phenomenal, jaw-dropping mess, may find an experience close to pleasure in this strange, misbegotten, three-headed freak of a movie.

This movie is like Plan 9 from outer space, so bad and just insane you kind of have to watch it to see how bad. It starts off like a cheap film noir crossing the old man and the sea with double indemnity and right when you think thats as mad as it can get it throws you over a cliff.

I was enjoying this film in the first two acts, bit fan of the thriller genre and thought that it had a promising cast. However, the twist that is introduced in the third act derailed the narrative and left me disappointed. This was a misfire in my book which is a shame.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if at theaters nationwide there's a collective screaming of "WHAT?!?" whenever the film gets to its big twist.
