A real, personal, and related able script with incredibly well cast actors. For anyone who has gone through this, it's very clear how personal this film is and how accurately it displays the burdens and importance of your family.

this was really good. Laura Linney is perhaps one of the most perfect little consistent actresses and Philip Seymour Hoffman is excellent as usual.

This movie was flawless. There are a few reviews here that sum it up pretty well. Its slated as a dark comedy but the honesty prevents you from laughing. Its also the honesty coupled with great direction/ script/ acting/ etc. that makes it such a brilliantly authentic film. This is one of the best films I have ever seen. Restores my faith in american film.

Has kind of a bleak interpretation of life, but a very realistic one, and I always appreciate realism no matter the circumstance. Philip Seymour Hoffman in particular is good in this. I can't help but notice how far apart Hoffman is from the rank and file of hollywood's narcissistic elite. He has his own truly subtle style that I have a feeling many cannot appreciate, but which is, I think, much more rewarding to see than the canned performances one usually sees from Tom Cruise and his ilk.
