John Van Laer is the overseer of a vast rubber plantation in the Dutch East Indies. His new wife Renee joins him at the plantation, but the monotony of her existence and unbearable heat soon drive her to distraction. One of Van Laer's workmen takes advantage of the boss' absence to seduce Renee.

The most absurd movie ever with some brilliant metaphors about the state of the movie industry today.

Rubber is a film so unique and entertaining that I can't really describe it. While the movie is basically 2 seemingly unrelated stories the one the movie is mostly about is "a film where a tire goes around blowing rabbits, birds, then PEOPLE's heads off with psychic powers" but the film is much more then that. While very very strange the movie is both a master of B movie comedy and 4 wall breaking storyline. The movie isn't pretentious as it could have been, feeling like a labor of love. I have never been more confused watching a movie with a smile in my face. Rubber is honestly going to be one of my favorite movies of all time, and if your a fan of horror, comedys, or just weird films this is without a doubt worth your time.

Why was this film made? No reason. Why should you watch this? No reason. So why bother? Because life itself is full of no reasons. And you owe it to yourself to watch this masterpiece of a film. For no reason.
