Robinson Crusoe (2016)

On a tiny exotic island, Tuesday, an outgoing parrot lives with his quirky animal friends in paradise. However, Tuesday can't stop dreaming about discovering the world. After a violent storm, Tuesday and his friends wake up to find a strange creature on the beach: Robinson Crusoe. Tuesday immediately views Crusoe as his ticket off the island to explore new lands. Likewise, Crusoe soon realizes that the key to surviving on the island is through the help of Tuesday and the other animals. It isn't always easy at first, as the animals don't speak "human." Slowly but surely, they all start living together in harmony, until one day, when their comfortable life is overturned by two savage cats, who wish to take control of the island. A battle ensues between the cats and the group of friends but Crusoe and the animals soon discover the true power of friendship up against all odds (even savage cats).

I took my 9yr old niece to see this. It was so boring I had no choice but to leave the movie after 25 mins and politely asked for a refund. It was boring to the core, my niece was too happy to leave as well.

Terrible. My five year old couldn't get over the part where the cruel cats trap the dog under a door on a burning boat that explodes. Was looking for a cute animal movie and instead had to leave the theatre with a crying child and answer questions about pain and suffering and death. Obviously we've seen kids movies that touch on death, but this was probably the worst so far. Malicious and tragic, not something I wanted to intentionally expose my daughter to. And now she hates cats. Boo.

Trailer looked funny, but it really wasn't good. So many animal animated movies out there that are way better, but I guess if you are just needing to babysit your kids, it's probably alright.

Robinson Crusoe: The Wild Life is a handbook of mistakes -- although I can't say whether the problem was lack of budget, time, or simply judgment.
