Probably the exception to the rule when it comes to Josh Hartnett. This movie was great. I love all the twists and turns in the story. It all kept turning around on you, very unpredictable, sad and poignant. Also I loved the boxing/writing metaphors.

good movie, good acting, wished it had ended somewhat different :/

Very good movie. The only negative thing I can say is that Samuel L. Jackson is so good in his role as Champ that the rest of the movie--the parts he's NOT in--seem dull by comparison. It also makes you want to beat Alan Alda's face in, which is always a plus.

I absolutly loved this film, Samual L Jackson is superb in it. Truly uplifting story about a boxer turned tramp who calls himself Champ. Josh Hartnett is a bit of a let down though but don't let that put you off watching it. Well worth it. I agree with other critics, Samual L Jackson should have been nominated for his acting!
