Reptilicus (1961)

A portion of the tail of a prehistoric reptile is discovered in Denmark. It regenerates into the entire reptile, which proceeds to destroy buildings and property and generally make a nuisance of itself. It can fly, swim, and walk, and has impenetrable scales, which makes it difficult to kill.

The Terror of Copenhagen. The pinnacle of Danish horror/sci-fi. No budget - no problem!

I first remember seeing this at a drive-in theatre when I was a small child...or rather hearing it, because it scared me to death,so I was hiding behind the seat while my parents enjoyed (?) the film. That's a sign of what an utter chicken I was, because this thing isn't even CLOSE to scary. Made in Denmark, it's a giant monster film on the order of The Thing or Beast from 20,000 Fathoms, and not as good as the worst parts of either of those films. Bad in pretty much every way you can conjure, with some particularly awful comic relief by a janitor character. There is a travelogue tour of Copenhagen that almost held my attention for a couple of minutes. Bad enough to be fun to watch with a bunch of witty sarcastic friends, but painful to watch alone.

Danish cheap budget horror - taking the Godzilla/Blob movies as its inspiration but this is seriously bad. It is funny, however not for the reasons it wants to be

Wow...ergh?..Wow... This is diffrent.. A gang of copper drillers (!) hits flesh and blood with the drill in Lapland (which for some reason is danish in this epic monster movie.) They manage to bring up parts of a prehistoric monsters tail and bring it back to Copenhagen for examination, When they forget to keep it freezed it thaws and is brought back to life and starts growing to one really big ugly dinosaur that brings havoc to the city. Denmark directly surrenders its military forces to a laconic american general who hates everything and dreams about beeing back in world war II again. Very strange movie on many levels. It's partly a monster horror movie in bright 1961 colors with a redicilous dinosaur puppet and it's partly a commercial för Copenhagen tourism. Tourist attractions of the city is presented as in a tourist commercial on a tv-set in a railway station. We even got a jazz song in a jazz club in it's entirety side by side with loads of scenes of the monster tearing up Legoland as it seems. So bad it's good.

I can't claim to have seen every Kaiju movie ever, but I think it's still pretty safe for be to anoint Reptilicus as one of the worst ever. Terrible on EVERY level, in the most awesome way possible (that doesn't include colorful hippy fashion)
