Really it would've been 5 stars but they lost me with the ending. This film should've wrapped about 5 to 10 minutes sooner and it would've made sense.

This was an interesting take on the slasher genre, book-ended with the story of a edgy looking guy chatting up a girl at a laundromat. While his slightly creepy mannerisms and manipulations made me wonder why the girl stayed around to hear his story, it was a fun take on the material. The day-glo use of color and splatter really spices things up visually, and while I wasn't ever exactly rooting for any of the characters, I wasn't bored either. Give it a rental/

The movie sets itself up as a dark romantic comedy framed around the telling of a horror story. It's a lot of fun, until the ending, which is both predictable and nonsensical. With a better script, this could have been a real gem. Also, Elliott from E.T. is the main character, and he's fantastic.
