Radiator often feels a bit too much like a Radio 4 play, but it makes for a good one about the difficulties faced by pensioners.

It turned to be a study on the director's family. The house and the objects are from his parents. And that makes the movie a little bit disappointing. It silly and funny but also tragic!

Another excellent film picked from the Film4 schedules by the Guardian as a 'hidden gem'. No sex, no violence, just human frailty portrayed with empathy and affection. Not an uplifting film: there is a narrative arc, but it's all hard going. Old age is not fun.
