Gertrude Bell deserves better, and so do we.

Diane Carson 28 Aug 2017

Typical of films focused on women, it dwells too much on her romantic involvements rather than the complexity and significance of her intellectual and emotional achievements.

David Sexton 22 Jul 2015

Queen of the Desert is such a conventionally romantic biopic (of the great explorer of the Middle East, Gertrude Bell) that it's hard to believe it's the work of that genius, Werner Herzog.

Scott Marks 06 Apr 2017

A bland departure from the director's normally madcap norm.

Marija Djurovic 04 Apr 2016

A passionless depiction of someone we never get to really know, much less care about.
