This is a really good undiscovered independent film! Chris Evans does an amazing job in this dramatic role. This film is based on an actual story about the introduction of the non-stick hospital needle, and the corruption around the suppliers monopoly when selling to hospitals. The story features a drug-addicted attorney (Evans), and his partner, and their struggles to break the surreal monopoly involved. They attempt to take on the high-powered Houston law firm assigned to stop their efforts, and run into one horrific issue after another. Great effort from Evans in this first class sleeper.

Evans is intense and believable in the true story of the man vs the corporation. A wake-up call for the health industry as we know it.

I truly enjoyed this movie. Before this Chris Evans, to me, seemed to be typecast as the funny, jokey, mess about character. He takes on a more serious role here and in my eyes, he excels. Now I get that there are so many films like this out there and I'll admit that I am very bias when it comes to the film industry putting out there the sort of "corruption" that our society as a whole live with and not bat an eyelid too. This for me was a genuine eye opener as I had never even known of any of this. After I had finished, I immediately went onto Google and spent at least half an hour reading about it all. Now when a movie can make you feel the urge to research the details, that there alone is worth the money to watch a film.

Great! True story. Bringing the reality of the dangers of plastic needle sticking by reuse and accidental sticks. The politics that did nothing about it, that is, other than paying millions of settlements. AIDS epidemic started the same time hospitals started using plastic needles, Hep ABC as well. Their are still hundreds of thousands of accidental sticks as of current. The main character (Mike Weiss) has the gift of taking this case to the top, but his addiction killed him before he could see his passion through.

In the same vein as the Academy Award winning film Erin Brockovich, Puncture sets out to prove that underdogs can fight city hall and win (while also changing the world for the better)!
