Insightful, intelligent, amusing, conversational, genuine, and unassuming. One of the most enjoyable films Ive seen in months. And the most entertaining documentary I can remember in years. Also better than many of Scorcese's last features.

A poignant view on a genius and acidic woman whose views will offend some but provoke many. If I would've pictured Scorsese doing a documentary this would be the topic and the look.

"The worst photograph of me at 25 is better than the best picture of me now" - Fran Lebowitz Fran Lebowitz blazes away about herself and her beloved New York City; Scorsese captures bits and pieces of the action. Wonderful stuff - an homage to the complex sentence ! A few of the Waverley scenes cry out for a second take - if only to improve the quality of the sound.
