A searching and wide-ranging debate has unfolded about America's response to terrorism and, more broadly, about the history and future of its role in the world. Mr. Junkerman's film is best understood as a necessary, if partisan, text in that continuing argument.

Its important if inflammatory message will bore all but Chomsky's fellow travelers to death.

An enlightening documentary in which a 74 year-old MIT linguist and political philosopher speaks out forcefully and convincingly against all forms of violence.

While I have never much agreed with linguist Noam Chomsky's assertion that only humans have the innate ability for language, I have long been a fan of his politics. He is a steadfast force in the fight for the rights of all citizens. This piece is a collection of speeches and interviews he has delievered or granted on the topics of media, power, and terror.

Don't expect great production values from this film, but it is a wonderful slice of Chomsky's life on the lecture circuit. You can really see how quick and clear-thinking and indefatigable he is. Shot in 2002, his analysis of the likely outcome of the then-current political situation turned out to be right on the money. And he still manages to be optimistic and uplifting. Worthwhile!
