In 79 A.D., Milo, a slave turned gladiator, finds himself in a race against time to save his true love Cassia, the beautiful daughter of a wealthy merchant who has been unwillingly betrothed to a corrupt Roman Senator. As Mount Vesuvius erupts in a torrent of blazing lava, Milo must fight his way out of the arena in order to save his beloved as the once magnificent Pompeii crumbles around him.

The visual effects were stunning and mesmerizing in Blu-ray, worth the rental price alone! I don't care what the critics say or believe, this film was great. Entertaining, fast-paced, with plenty of action, drama and major natural disasters that inevitably will terminate all the characters. Yes that was the only negative. I don't recall watching any other film where the entire cast is annihilated. Despite that, I give Pompeii four stars and I highly recommend this alluring film in Blu-ray, where you will spend the nearly next two hours reliving life in Pompeii. Sadly the city was destroyed and buried under 13 to 20 feet of ash and pumice in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD as you will see in this motion picture.

Ok! So I've never seen Titanic, but most people I've talked to that have seen it says it's a Love story even though dozens of people die on that boat. So after watching Pompeii I guess people consider this a Love story as well. smh lol

Lots of action, good special effects. Sadly no Frankie Howerd and not really how the eruption occurred but who cares, good film.

Great movie lots of action. Its real down fall is storyline. i felt like it was a cheep showing of gladiator there the natural disasters kill everyone off to tie up the ending.
