Film version of the Neil Simon play has three separate acts set in the same hotel suite in New York's Plaza Hotel with Walter Matthau in a triple role. In the first, Karen Nash tries to get her inattentive husband Sam's attention and help save their failing marriage. In the second, brash film producer Jesse Kiplinger tries to seduce his former one-time flame Muriel. In the third, Roy Hubley and his wife Norma try and persuade their daughter, a bride to-be with cold feet, out of the bathroom before her approaching wedding ceremony.

the first and the last segments are the best

I think the movie is a little darker and explore the relationships between the characters in a darker tone than I imagined. But it is still comic and fun little acts. I like the way that they used Matthau for the 3 roles.

This film is in 3 parts the 3rd of which is the most entertaining in my opinion. It centres around the Plaza Hotel in New York and the characters inhabiting in it on this one particular day. I love Walter Matthau, he makes me wet myself, and in this he is superb. A must see!

lol This one was fun to watch ^_^ Though it only took place in one hotel room, the viewer never got bored. This is an example of how important a good script and interesting characters are. I particularly like the last episode, which was particularly hillarious lol The actors all did fabulously ^_^

If you are a fan of Matthau this is a film you just have to watch. The best acting I have ever seen is in this film. The best part is you see the characters from previous stories just walk by the next storys character. They go back to real life. Great cast and Matthau shows what he can do to the max.
