A series of nine flipbook-like vignettes showcasing simple revelations of movement and color. Koji Yamamura's animation refers back to the phenakistoscope, one of the earliest mechanisms used to make drawings move.

I loved this, even got the t shirt. A bit slow but the ending is so wacko

For the most part, Pieces is cheesy and full of poor dialogue, but it's so over the top and silly that you have to love it. The gore is pretty over the top as well and the overall plot, when it is present, is interesting. I loved the way this movie ended, very cool. Also there is a kung fu teacher that randomly attacks a lady and then falls over, then gets up and says he had bad chop suey. This scene cannot be explained but I like that the director felt it was necessary. it's actually more random that I made it sound. And you can't forget the girl on a skateboard who crashed into a giant sheet of mirror carried by two workers, like a cartoon.

Gory ridiculous fun! Some parts are just hilariously bad, but that all adds to the fun-factor. The murders are really quite graphic so gorehounds will definitely be satisfied with what is shown. A guilty pleasure for many out there - go see it for yourself!

If I could, I would give Pieces a 6/5. Exploitation to the core. It's a terrible movie, that is infinitely fun to watch.
