This is a great Hindi film. I recently got into Hindi films, and this is definitely one of my favorites so far. Its romantic, but with good music and a good cast. Im a sucker for happy endings so it definitely put me in a great mood. Definitely a chick flick though.

This movie is excellent. Saif's acting is superb! Vidya is very good too. I had seen it before, but I appreciated it even more the second time around. Mujhe Parineeta bahut bahut pasand hai!

there are vidhu vinod trademarks in the writing but as good as the music is, songs disrupt the flow of the movie and the climax is over dramatized. there is no follow up on the fate of the father and the character of diya mirza which leaves the script hanging. the best thing about the movie apart from vidya balan is that the script runs parallel to the book without major modifications except time which is unlike devdas. not a big fan of love stories, dark or not and so didnt like the movie too much
