Nukie (1987)

A space child, lost in the universe, is abducted by the U. S. Space Foundation. In a desperate intergalactic search for the frightened little alien, his brother Nukie® mistakenly lands in Africa where he is befriended by African twins. Reid--this is for you. This movie is so terrible--so horrendous in EVERY ASPECT--that it cannot be anything but a joy to watch. It is true that it is hell and wretched, but that is partly because it is clear that the movie was cobbled together from only a few pieces of poorly-shot and terribly acted junk. Other than Nukie's Saturday Night Fever dance, the best bit is that as the movie unfolds, the twins actually change haircuts because nobody seemed sure of how to edit for continuity. Man, this is terrible. So bad it's good. And... try to be drunk when you see it.

This movie will stretch your perception of awful. If you decide to go against common sence and watch it, then I DARE you to watch it all the way through once... its almost impossible. Its very bad, but not in a funny way.. just a boring, irritating and at times quite disturbing way. The parental rating says its suitable for all ages, especially with very young children... I am 23 now and there are bits that disgust and upset me they are so graphic and disgusting!

Nothing much to add to the other reviews except to say that it's a bad idea to make a drinking game out of hearing one of the aliens say "Nukie" - unless you can handle about 78 shots of liquor. Stupid and sweet and well-meaning and (laugh-at, not laugh-with) funny throughout. But mostly stupid.
