The film probes that tricky-to-reconcile bridge between honoring the fallen and moving forward.

An extraordinary sports documentary and a compelling human-interest story, this documentary follows the rising Brazilian soccer team Chapecoense after the November 2016 plane crash that killed 19 players and the entire staff.

Steve Greene 24 Jun 2018

By focusing on what binds those on the pitch and those in the bleachers, Nossa Chape doesn’t just wonder if some things are “bigger than the game” — it proves it.

Bobby LePire 14 Jun 2018

Nossa Chape has an urgency and poignancy that several narrative dramas only wish they could achieve.

Emotional movie, that is not only for soccer fans. It shows the tragic events that a small team, young player and relatively new team, that evolved as a family and that was decimated by a tragic airline disaster. But shows the aftershock of the accident for the team but also to families of the players. Amazing.
