Emily Delahunty is an eccentric British romance novelist who lives in Umbria in central Italy. One day while travelling, the train she is on is bombed by terrorists. After she wakes up in a hospital, she invites three of the other survivors of the disaster to stay at her Italian villa for recuperation. Of these are The General, a retired British Army veteran, Werner, a young German man, and Aimee, a young American girl who has now become mute after her parents were both killed in the explosion.

Fantastic film! Maggie Smith is amazing, a beautiful heartfelt story. Very moving.

Definitely not what I expected, a very pleasant surprise. Interesting story and great acting in a lovely setting. Not too heavy but not too light either, a perfect balace.

I've watched this at least 5 times. The best role that I've ever seen Maggie Smith play. The little anecdotes that her character gives are both extreamly witty and at the same time heartbreakingly sad.

This well acted movie has Maggie Smith on top form as a survivor of a near fatal bomb attack on a train. The film focuses on her relationship with some fellow survivors. The story is quite simple really but with a brilliant cast you become totally engrossed. The Italian scenery is also extremely beautiful
