About reaching out, about seeing the other person, about having something to say and being able to listen. So what if the ending is in autopilot? At least it's a flight worth taking.

I just watched this again, and it totally is still on my favorites list. It's quiet, has a unique plot, and fascinating characters. Plus Leelee Sobieski is definitely one of my favorite actresses, and she rocks in this (good example of an actress who actually acts, rather than just playing herself all the time.)

In its first two-thirds, My First Mister, which marks Christine Lahti's feature directorial debut, looks to be a winner. But it takes a disastrously wrong turn toward the end that all but destroys the good work that's come before.

I was a little uncomfortable during the movie...it has a sexual undertone of oldman/teenager that I don't like....but that's my hang up. This was a very good movie.
