Really good documentary. Would still love to visit afghanistan...just sayin

An engrossing documentary about a compassionate doctor trying to make a difference in Afghanistan which has the second highest maternal and infant mortality rates in the world.

A very moving documentary that brings the issues of women and healthcare in Afghanistan to the forefront. The story follows an American doctor (who was from Afghanistan) as he makes his annual humanitarian visits to Women's hospitals throughout Afghanistan's rural areas. The film shows some deplorable conditions of the so called hospitals that are supposed to serve these women (hospitals without working toilets, running water or clean medial equipment). The doctor, who also happens to be the director's father, feels like he is a "drop in the ocean." The uplifting part of the movie is to recognize that even one "small" good deed can make a big difference if it can improve the course of even one person's life.

Frankly, this doc was pretty amateurish, but I think the content is SO valuable I give it 4 stars.
