Set in the 1980s, "Monga" centers on five boys (Mosquito, Monk, Dragon, White Monkey and A-Lan) who join the "Gang of Princes" who are tired of being pushed around. As the "Gang of Princes" rise in stature, they come into conflict with other gangs jealous of their rising power.

Too much emphasis on gang theme, the film hurt the real Monga, lousy movies.

Like the way it told the story. It sketched something really happened when we were young, and the way life took you far away to the world's edge.

A very good production from Taiwan. Some parts let me remember "Godfather" series and "Young and Dangerous" series. But this movie has its own Taiwanese characters. Nearly every casts in the movie is well-performed. May be the only negative point of this movie is that it made the black society too romantic.

A decent gangster film with good characters and relationships. The film runs a little long due to a couple weak subplots as well as drawn out fight and chase scenes.
