Good film. Nice dystopian ambiance. Well worth a watch.

vincent gallo, juilette lewis, and written by the guy who wrote the girl with the dragon tattoo. there was no way I wasn't going to enjoy this.

Let's see: a weird, atmospheric story about a guy who finds out that his thoughts are being monitored through a anti-dandruff shampoo. The animation style is unique, slow, and the colours are all washed-out, almost monochromatic. The feeling is in a way a bit more like in a very high-quality game in-between videos stretched into 1h30min story. I'm combining in my head the game Dreamfall and Beneath a Steel Sky - it had this adventure gameish feel to it, somehow transferred to a feature film. Really beautiful, well-scored film which yes does have some issues but is still an unforgettable experience.

Interesting visuals in a dark sci-fi story. Too bad it's incredibly boring.

Sought this one out after reading some glowing reviews (including one in TIME). Visually it's certainly one of the most immediately arresting films you could hope to come across. But the pacing is uneven, and the plot doesn't have the legs to fill even it's slight 86 minute run-time. Still, Metropia is worth a look for it's amazing style and frightening vision of a potentially not-to-distant future.
