Lots of energy going nowhere, unless you pine for the garage/office/warehouse/dock fights that HK was doing better decades ago. In that case, enjoy the last 40+ min., including a dull confined space fight in an elevator. I'd like to hope that this is an encouraging sign of better things to come, but would rather this had been a more ambitious failure than such a boring retread of better films.

The heir apparent to Ong Bak, this is not. Fight scenes are too few and far between, and when they do happen they are not nearly visceral enough. Wire work and CGI mar the film at points, and the story is as trite as can be expected from these types of films. Seek action elsewhere, ie Ong Bak, The Protector, Chocolate, Ip Man or even Kung Fu Hustle is you're ok with wire work and CGI.
