When miner Charley 'Boomer' Baxter sets off a series of massive mining detonations in West Virginia, a gigantic earthquake is soon rocking the North Atlantic, exposing a deep seismic fault that runs the length of the North American continent. This was a terrible movie. The writing could have been done better by my 9 year old nephew. Storyline was dumb, almost like they tried to do their own version of The Day After Tomorrow. Don't watch this unless you can get a makeout out of it.

There is no point in judging Brittany Murphys acting qualities in this movie with event taking place soon after film was finished in mind, but we can trash down the movie in itself. It's horrible. It doesn't matter that its made directly for some sci/fi-channel, it's not the effects and animation that sucks. Neither the actors. You could have put Sir Lawrance Olivier in this movie and lines and script would still be crap. It's almost impressive how money invested in this movie was blown away in such a stupid way.

Megafault isn't the worst movie ever made, but it certainly gives a good fight for a spot at the top. It's so bad, it makes Alone in the Dark look like Shawshank Redemption in comparison. Brittany Murphy gives the most boring and uninteresting performance of her career and you have never seen people more calm during an earthquake than the extras of this movie; some of them even caught fire and didn't move at all. Oh, Megafault, you had me at let's move the Grand Canyon.
