As a group of seniors celebrate their final college days at a smart house, the house's highly advanced AI system, Margaux, begins to take on a deadly presence of her own. A carefree weekend of partying turns into a dystopian nightmare as they realize Margaux's plans to eliminate her tenants one way or another. An artificial intelligence themed horror movie produced in 2022. But don't expect too much from the movie. Because it's not even mediocre. There is a house and everything in this house is controlled by artificial intelligence. There is no home. It can produce anything. But the house has a taste for killing people. We see this already in the first minutes of the movie. After a while, the movie gets really out of hand. Especially the ending turns into nonsense. Another skill of the house is to make virtual people with a 3D printer. So, what is it when a supposedly capable and self-developing computer turns itself into a 3D human? Or fight and kill other 3D types afterwards. I'd say funny, but it's not even funny. There is no nudity in the movie, but there is sexuality.

B-movie mainstay Steven C. Miller (2012’s “Silent Night,” a few recent Bruce Willis action pix) builds suspense here and there and stages a reasonably invented murder-by-technology moment or two. But Margaux is so formulaic as to forbid anything resembling a surprise.

Margaux is younger adult horror with an edgier attitude and pops of twisted comedy, which helps distract from digital effects that look like they might actually be from 1999’s Smart House.
