Mara (2018)

Criminal psychologist Kate Fuller is assigned to the murder of a man who has seemingly been strangled in his sleep by his wife and the only witness is their eight-year-old daughter, Sophie. As Kate digs into the mystery of an ancient demon which kills people in their sleep, she experiences the same petrifying symptoms as all previous victims and spirals through a chilling nightmare to save herself and Sophie before she dares fall asleep again.

It is an average Horror Thriller movie as there are 1,000 zillions. The fact that the central plot revolves around sleep paralysis does not make it better, although, thanks to the production I think you could see the whole thing, nevertheless, I found it a little too long for how the events were going before the hour of the movie.

Horror need not be neat and tidy, but haphazard, unorganized scares with underdeveloped characters and dialogue that rivals fingernails on a chalkboard is beyond untidy. It's simply unnecessary.

The locations in Savannah, Georgia are atmospheric, but there is much clumsy exposition and some very lazy 'boo!'-type scares.
