Manic (2002)

Follows the fate of Lyle, a violent adolescent who, in lieu of prison, is placed in a juvenile mental institution, where he encounters a group of equally troubled teens. Avoids the common pitfalls of the genre, instead giving us an intense character study supplemented by a supporting cast of characters, not vague stereotypes.

this movie brought back so many memories. Like when the techs would threaten a level drop(that's serious shit). while they relaxed wht the actual setting would be, they got the point across.

Another obscure movie, but let's face it; Don Cheadle always picks a damn fine script. About a Kid with a mental illness who is sent to a hospital for treatment. Cheadle plays the counselor of the kids. Also stars Joseph Gorden-Levitt (yes, the kid fron Angels in the Outfied and 3rd Rock from the Sun, but he's really matured and does a fabulous job potraying what it's like to live in an adolescent ward) and Zooey Deschanel (The girl from Elf)
