You see how brilliant an actor Clift was. You see his love of the art of storytelling, developing characters with depth and dimension, and his willingness to put the final product over his own ego.

Fiona Underhill 22 Jan 2019

A fascinating exploration, but not of the man himself.

Dan Callahan 06 Nov 2018

The Clift remembered here is not the doomed victim of so many mythologizing books and TV programs but a highly intelligent, mordantly funny man who successfully fought to keep his creative and sexual integrity intact.

Christopher James 29 Oct 2018

At its best, Making Montgomery Clift serves as a new, fresh take on the famously tragic queer icon Montgomery Clift.
