A classic of our time!! Wai Ka-fai drills so deep about humanity weaknesses through this story. The changes on Andy On through the story made the biggest impact to me and let me know when you face your own weakness, mixed with your own benefits, even the purest person would show up its dark side. So cruel but so true!! Johnny To tried his every effort on his every shooting and scene design. No Doubt this may be his best movie in a asthetical manner. You can't imagine how come the glass can be broken and spread on the ground in such a beautiful pattern in the last scene.

Good story and acting, unexpected ending, this could possible be the best 2007 Hong Kong movie... well that said, there wasn't much competition anyway

A cleverly scripted film that demands your full attention to really enjoy this movie. The Mad Detective does things that are illogical to the normal mind, but the writers manage to explain his actions to us viewers which i think is crucial to the movie being so enjoyable.

It makes me think of the "selves" of mine and others. By the way, ignore the synopsis in Flixster. It's not accurate. The cops are not hunting down a serial killer. They want to catch an armed robber instead.
