Lbs. tackles a common problem with uncommon dignity.

A really good and different approach to highlight an addiction that is all too easy to feed.

For every issue about obesity that this film addresses, there are at least three issues about how this writer sees women that are not addressed. This is a horribly unbalanced film which feels like the fantasies of an alienated outsider... That the victimized can turn victimizer - and pompous, selfish ass - does not make for a great film. A great premise, but at over 100 minutes, much more could and should have been done.

An astonishing transformation is a big part of the story in Lbs., but it is not the whole story.

Powerful, poignant, and so real, esp. if you've had an issue with overeating. I don't want to spoil the ending, so I'll just say that I'm torn between appreciating its authenticity, and wanting to see more about the other half of managing addiction, figuring out how to maintain change the rest of your life.
