After rocker Kurt Cobain's death, ruled a suicide, a film crew arrives in Seattle to make a documentary. Director Nick Broomfield talks to lots of people. Portraits emerge: a shy, slight Kurt, weary of touring, embarrassed by fame, hooked on heroin; an out-going Courtney, dramatic, controlling, moving from groupie to star.

She may not be a saint, and may even be as manipulative as she is portrayed, but even Love deserves a little more objectivity than Broomfield brings to this film.

Nick Broomfield, controversially creates the documentary that many others have previously tried to do, looking into the many conspiracy theories surrounding the death of Kurt Cobain. I guess it depends on your opinion on the subject as to whether this documentary is intrusive to Courtney Love's personal life or not, but her Lawyers obviously made it difficult for certain things to be looked into (again people's opinions on that obviously vary). Whilst I am a fan of Broomfield's work and tend to find his topics for documentarys of interest, some of the interviews here were with people who were clearly high and it became a little frustrating to watch as they stumble for speech and thought. Interesting, perhaps a little bias (again depending on opinion) but obviously feels a little unfinished.

Its got really bad sound and picture quality, but it sheds some light on the truth of Kurts death, RIP Kurt

The sheer eccentricity, deprivation and unreliability of the players Broomfield visits imprints that a violent end was an almost inevitable outcome to the Kurt & Courtney tale
