honest effort. Another Joe Swanberg film, Nights and Weekends, is better.

One of the better Mumblecore offerings,and directed by one of the movement's most recognizable faces. I really liked the themes in this movie: being brave enough to move on after a long relationship when you have decided you don't want to settle; falling back into temptation after promising not to do it again; finally moving on. If you don't mind dialogue-heavy indie films and won't be scared off by full frontal nudity by both sexes (usually depicting the mundane, such as trimming pubic hair). Any Mumblecore aficionados out there definitely should check out this selection.

The film's primary function seems to be in lensing the banalities of everyday living. To that end, the film is successful; in providing illumination to those banalities, one will have to look elsewhere.

I don't know why I liked this slightly better than HANNAH TAKES THE STAIRS. It's actually more padded and boring, and less well-made. Maybe it's the full-frontal nudity and ejaculating boner... eh, no I think it's just the spirit of it feels a little purer and more interesting.
