I was not really into this horror film for the first and second act, but in the film's third act, it really comes to life and goes into a crazier Evil Dead type of direction. For most of the film I couldn't quite tell, and am still not sure, if this film was trying to be tongue-in-cheek or if it was just a badly made movie. When I saw Paul Bartel show up in a small part, I thought that may have been a tip-off that this was all tongue-in-cheek, but I still wasn't totally convinced. The story revolves around some girls wanting to join a sorority, but it's also April Fools Day, so there are lots of instances where the audience is supposed to think is real, but then it was just a prank, which gets really annoying fast. That was most of the first act and in the second act the horny college kids then actually do starting to get killed. Then in the final act we get some crazy stuff with wall crawling demon possessed college kids, which is the the kind of zany horror film fun this film needed a lot more of.

Another film from 1986 where there's an April Fool's theme, not to mention a sorority/fraternity/pledge theme. This obviously had a decent budget but a very crappy story, not only was the (very few) slash scenes off-screen there was almost no blood. What makes it even worse? Nothing happened until the last 15 minutes of the movie. The movie within a music video within a movie in the beginning was FAR more interesting than the feature film. Killer Party was far from killer, no matter the definition.

One of my many inexplicable guilty pleasures, an utterly bizarre mid-80's Canadian-produced kitchen-sink of a horror movie, with about every trite and over-used genre theme and cliche tossed together into a steaming stew of knuckle-headed nonsense, a silly and slapdash, messy melding of Slasher films, sappy sorority shenanigans, and demon-possession movies, literally something for everyone (As long as the everyone in question are indiscriminating movie-goers with low expectations and no discernable taste!). A bunch of low-rent college hooligans & hooliganesses decide to hold a hazing party in an abandoned fraternity house with the usual predictable results. The slasher/killer here wanders around doing his dirty work while dressed up in a deep-sea diver's get-up, helmet and all, using an assortment of fun weapons, pretty much anything he can get his hands on--machete, harpoon gun , hammer, even a trident! Hysterically inane, which makes it all the more enjoyable.

Use to watch it as a young lad 3-7. Then the movie got lost in the catacombs. Don't remember too much besides some naked chicks, the sweet music video burning casket intro and a dead guy in a bath tub. This hasn't come out on dvd yet, but hopefully it will someday soon, or I could just buy it on vhs :(.

A fairly typical revenge tale of pranks gone wrong that has a few comedic bits going for it, this one manages to spice things up a bit from the average slasher. Rental.
