The filmmakers were able to pay his fee, and so Hopkins shows up for another rubbishy, misbegotten project and shames the whole enterprise with his open and volatile face, his incisive voice, his mere ultra-soulful presence.

There's not much to remember after it's over, which is unfortunate as this movie is based on actual events. The plot line is gripping from the beginning and promises a grand finale, yet unfortunately that's not the case. Kidnapping Mr. Heineken builds up to a rising action that never reaches its climax.

Much like the lager that gives the film its name, Kidnapping Mr. Heineken is bland on the palette and best pissed away.

Passable & watchable but lacking in thrills as it could have had probably due to the actual fact that it was never revealed by the Dutch Police who tipped them off which led to the capture of the culprits in the end, a crucial element of the story!

The Origanal Dutch version with Rudger Hauer was way better , so i'm gonna just forget this one !
