Maxine Peake does a fine job of playing a seriously unlikeable character in this frosty, low-budget British drama.

There is no attempt to make Charlotte remotely sympathetic... This makes it hard to root for her, or to warm to the film in spite of the grimly effective way in which it is constructed.

First-time director Steven Reeves crafts the suspense beautifully. The film's scale - he uses a handful of actors and even fewer locations - means it will probably feel more at home on the small screen. But it is packed with some very big surprises.

Amazing! Blake Harrison nails his role and Maxine Peake's performance is perfect in creating tension and suspense. Huge twist, whole theatre gasped - a must see.

Trevor Johnston 26 Jun 2014

[A] modestly scaled British thriller about a high-flying executive confronted with the rash decisions she makes on a really, really bad day.
