Street-smart exorcist Fatt has an unique method of dealing with vengeful spirits: He negotiates with them and persuades them to let go of their grudges. Keeper of Darkness is inconsistent but still a distinctive and entertaining ride that is a huge improvement over Cheung's directorial debut. The characters are so well-defined that I would love to see what they would do in the future.

A genre mishmash that goes from exorcism drama to gangster comedy to zombie horror to supernatural romance. ... Nick Cheung has obviously done enough to set himself up for a sequel.
