A year after the collapse of a low-budget British rom-com, documentary maker Andy Wiseman sets out to find out what went wrong. He speaks to the producer, Nicholas Johnson, an alcoholic whose office is a lap-dancing club, the writer, Flynn Beatty, living in a suburban semi, and the deluded 'visionary' director, Harlan Noble, dwelling in deserved obscurity. But as the cast and crew tell their tale, will Andy ever get to the bottom of the farrago that was 'Just for the Record'?

Steve Lawsons Directorial Debut Had Great Potential But What Should Have Been Its Greatest Selling Point, The Defining London Cast Ensemble, Backfires In A Big Way. A Poor Storyline And Individual Turns By Far Too Many Of The Directors 'Friends', Made This Interesting To The Fan Of London Based Films Of Recent Years But Ultimately Whilst Fairly Well Put Together, Rambled Along With No Intent. Spoilers For Lawsons Next Effort 'Dead Cert' Have Shown Signs Of Greater Clarity, We Live In Hope...

If by any chance you are expecting a quirky, gangster comedy film... think again! If however, you are looking for a post production docu-drama with strippers then you are in for a treat. Do not be fooled by the box, its synopsis or pre-conceived ideas of Danny Dyer, because it's sod all like that at all. What a giggle, just really not what was expected! Wehey, I'm the first on here to see it to!

It's not funny - its idea of comedy is to make its leading lady a tranny, and get an old dear to utter the word "bum" - but at least it's not another paean to Soho gangsters or the Rettenden Range Rover murders. Otherwise, unexceptionally poor, with a lot of tedious film set trivia to sit through; the Frank Harper cameo comes too late to be worthwhile, and you mostly agree with Fairbrass's honest evaluation of the film-within-the-film: "F**k me, what a load of old s**t."

terrible. probably sounded a fun idea in conception but delivery to the screen with flat pacing and a waste of Berkoff and Davis. missed opportunity.
