There’s a lot wrong with Josie, but the thing that sinks it beyond the possibility of recommendation in any circumstance is its aforementioned third-act twist and ending.

As the movie did its slow fizzle, I couldn’t help but wonder when the #MeToo movement was going to make its way into actual movie content. Because the misogyny inherent in Josie isn’t just objectionable, it’s boring.

This is a creepy film with good acting and good direction. The plot is a little muddy but the actors do their best with a weak script. Good imagery and camera work. I enjoyed it alone with some whiskey.

You can see the twist a mile away and it does meander but Turner and Mcdermet keep it watfchable
