This is a great satire on homophobia in small towns. The acting is a little one dimensional in parts, but it is funny and really hits home.

It's in the water and it turns you gay. It's In The Water is a vehicle for satirizing stereotypical attitudes held by and about straights and gays alike. It's kind of slow, yet has its moments.

Queer cinema truly started shaping up in the 90s and "It's in the Water" is a prime example of a good low-budget queer comedy.

Ok, so this movie is badly and cheaply done, suffers from virtually every cliché you could imagine (refreshing: the straight characters are the clichéd ones while the gays are lovely, well-rounded characters) - but it is SOOOOO funny. And the fun I had while watching it adds the third star, which it technically probably wouldn't deserve. Straight people won't get half of the in-jokes, though! ;-)
