Torn straight from the headlines, Michael Winterbottom's compelling and prescient 'In This World' follows young Afghan Jamal and his older cousin Enayat as they embark on a hazardous overland trip from their refugee camp at Peshawar, north-west Pakistan. Entering Turkey on foot through a snowy, Kurdish-controlled pass, the pair again take their lives into their hands and face suffocation when they are locked in a freight container on a ship bound for Italy. From there they plan to travel on to Paris, the Sangatte refuge centre and ultimately asylum in London.

M.Winterbottem has done it again! This provoking documentry will give you a clear insight into how two cousins from a refugee camp are smugged from Afghanistan through Pakistan,Iran,Turkey and Italy and finally to England. Loved every minute of it! Subtitles in English.

This is a stirring work of advocacy, and that Winterbottom was able to pull this venture off at all is remarkable. A hybrid of fiction and non-fiction, featuring a cast comprised mostly of amateur actors; I had to keep reminding myself that this was not a chronicle of real events.

Enayat and Jamal are Afghan refugees who live in a camp in Peshawar and try to escape to Great Britain by the help of people smugglers. Their dangerous journey leads them along the "silk road" through Pakistan, Iran and Turkey towards London.
