This is moronic. A foolish attempt to glorify something that deserves far better to explain it. Juliette Binoche deserves a Razzie here, and Samuel L. Jackson merely hams it up in yet another horrid film that will, interestingly enough, not hurt his career no matter how hard he tries.

wonderfully written and makes me cry every time I see it.

Heartfelt story about apartied and amnesty. There were parts of this that were so moving to watch. However as a whole the movie lacked strength for me. It faded a lot. There would be a moment of feeling or inspiration then it would fade again. Not horrible but not great either.

Aside from a powerful courtroom scene, the film is mostly a contrived mess.

Like most social injustices in this world, it somehow loses it's power when it reaches us here in north america. even though it has been years since the time used as the backdrop for this film, the message should never be lost. this movie showed me how horrible the apartheid really was. i had heard of it's strict segregation of africans and whites, which led to hostility. but i never imagined it was such a crime to humankind. I thisnk that we should watch this as a form of education, without books and without boundaries. that may be the only answer for the technological age to get the message across.
