In My Country is a film with great ideas - and important ones. Frustratingly, they are undermined by Hollywood plot contrivances, generally poor writing and at least one case of woeful miscasting.

This is moronic. A foolish attempt to glorify something that deserves far better to explain it. Juliette Binoche deserves a Razzie here, and Samuel L. Jackson merely hams it up in yet another horrid film that will, interestingly enough, not hurt his career no matter how hard he tries.

Not only a great movie but it was very educational for me. I would say this is the best movie I've seen that's been set in SA.

[Seems] less interested in South Africa and more interested in whether the journalists ... will suffer nervous breakdowns or run into the desert for a torrid love affair.

Unquestionably sincere, but it doesn't do the subject justice in either the African or the western sense of the phrase.
