Remains quite a disturbing film in places, this British shocker did need to pick up the pace and the dialogue is poor.

this is my favorite pete walker movie, its a paranoid film about a private prison run by psychopaths... there is no escape!

a great cult british movie, made in my hometown of the Forest Of Dean! i live 10 mins from the great house!!! this and Frightmare show Pete Walker as a under cherished horror icon, the same goes for Shelia Keith. see this movie......

Very well made and intelligent political satire that lampoons Tory corporal punishment proponents. The production is superbly staged, with suitably austere locations and minimal but well-placed lighting. The initial female lead sports a truly terrible French accent, but the veteran supporting cast of villains is so strong that it is easy to overlook. Excellent cinematography, with not overly dramatic focus-pulling and intercutting between backlit closeups and low-angle shots.
